Buck & Save

Test mode — verified, not launched

Everything on the shelf is $1–$3 — most of it $1 — shipped as one box, with $0 of inventory behind it.

For anyone who loves a dollar-store hunt: a zero-inventory online dollar store. Browse or search 2,000 product types at $1, $2 and $3 — most of them $1 — fill one box to the $20 checkout minimum, and the whole order ships as a single parcel from one consolidating supplier. The store holds $0 of inventory and ships nothing itself. SAVE10 is always on, free-entry rewards stack up to a 15% combined-discount cap, and no item will be sold until its real photos pass the supplier audit.

Try the test-mode storefront

The full storefront runs right here, in your browser — the real build, verified end to end: browse and search all 2,000 product types, fill a box, watch the live profit math in the cart, and check out. It is TEST MODE, labeled as such in the store itself: checkout is a simulation, there are no payment inputs, no order is charged, and nothing ships. Actual photographs are not displayed — every product shows its photo gate instead (see “Photos — the honest limit” below).

How it works

  1. Browse or search the shelves — trending, new arrivals, bundles, and $1 / $2 / $3 shelves, a 10-category picker, and price sort
  2. Fill one box to the $20 minimum — every item in an order shares one supplier route, so the whole order ships as a single parcel; a different-route item brings up a keep-or-switch prompt
  3. SAVE10 takes 10% off automatically; free-entry rewards can stack on top, with all discounts combined capped at 15% of the basket
  4. Shipping shrinks as the box fills — $4.99, then $2.99 at $25+, free at $30+ (tiers on the basket after discounts)
  5. At checkout (Shopify, when launched) you pay the store; the store then pays the supplier from its own funds before anything ships, and the payout lands about 2 business days later — profit is payouts minus supplier invoices, fees, refunds and fixed costs, reconciled daily by order ID
  6. Returns on $1 items are returnless refunds: photo proof, then a refund or replacement — you keep the item

Price: $1–$3 per item ($20 minimum basket to check out (the current build's gate — the founder's $15 alternative is an open ruling, see below); Fill the Box shipping $4.99 under $25, $2.99 at $25–$29.99, free at $30+ (tiers on the basket after discounts); SAVE10 always on — 10% off; all discounts combined are capped at 15% of the basket)

The shelf — 2,000 product types, counted

The catalog is counted, not estimated: exactly 2,000 product types — 1,800 at $1 (90%), 100 at $2 (5%), and 100 at $3 (5%) — across 10 categories of 200 each, with no duplicate names. The $2 and $3 listings are multipack bundles (multi-item sets sold as one SKU) — the only way a $2 or $3 shelf price carries its margin, per the store's research.

A necessary honesty: these are 2,000 product TYPES, picked and structured — not 2,000 importable supplier listings. Turning a type into a listing is the supplier photo pilot in the launch checklist below, and listings that fail the photo gate are dropped or replaced, so the launch catalog may land below 2,000. No other count is claimed.

Fill the Box — one parcel, tiered shipping

Every item in an order must share a single supplier route, so the whole order ships as one consolidated parcel. Adding an item from a different route brings up a keep-or-switch prompt instead of silently splitting the order into two parcels — two parcels would erase the order's margin. The store holds $0 of inventory and ships nothing itself: a single consolidating supplier fulfils the order.

Shipping is one charge per order, never per item, on the basket after discounts: $4.99 under $25, $2.99 at $25–$29.99, and free at $30 or more. The parcel costs the store $5.00, and the cart shows a progress meter toward the next tier as the box fills.

The $20 checkout gate — the current build's position

Checkout opens at a $20 minimum basket. That is the gate the current build runs, and it is the research-backed position: at $20 the model clears its 50% net target on the cart's stated basis (a $20 basket with SAVE10 only totals $22.99 and nets $12.02 — 52.3% — before platform fixed costs and returns), while a $15 basket is profitable but lands at 48.2%, below the target.

The founder's alternative — a $15 gate — is an OPEN ruling: he was asked on 2026-10-22 and has not ruled. The $20 gate stands in the build until he does, and no step of the launch checklist waits on that ruling.

Discounts and free-entry rewards — the math stated precisely

SAVE10 is always on: 10% off every order, applied automatically. On top of it, the welcome Plinko drop and the exit offer can add more — and ALL discounts combined are hard-capped at 15% of the basket. The cap is a ceiling, not a sum: discounts multiply rather than add, so SAVE10 (10% off) followed by the exit offer's extra 5% off comes to 14.5% off — under the cap, not at it. The full 15% is reached only when a Plinko prize also stacks far enough to hit the ceiling, and the cart applies the cap itself whenever a stack would pass it.

Every reward entry path is free — the founder's ruling (2026-10-22): the arrival drop, the “Play the welcome drop” button, and a free alternative entry (AMOE) on request. No purchase, payment, email, or account is required on any path, and the published odds are the same on every path. The exit offer is a guaranteed extra 5% — no chance element, so no sweepstakes rules attach to it. Reward prizes redeem on orders of $20 or more.

Photos — the honest limit

Actual photographs are NOT displayed — not on this page, and not in the test-mode storefront. Catalog entries are product types, not licensed supplier listings, and every product carries its photo gate instead: the exact count of real photos it calls for (5–9 for single items, 8–10 for bundles — in range for all 2,000, verified) with its shot list.

Photos exist only at supplier import, under written per-supplier permission, cross-checked against review photos. Stock images, AI images, and other sellers' images are banned as misrepresentation. No item is sold until its real photos pass that audit.

Where it stands — the honest state

Buck & Save is built and verified end to end in test mode — the catalog recounted, browse → search → cart → checkout exercised, cart math hand-checked to the cent, the $20 gate locking and unlocking correctly — and it is NOT launched. The storefront above takes simulated orders only: its checkout has no payment inputs at all, nothing is charged, and nothing ships.

Real selling runs on Shopify when it launches — the launch checklist names that rebuild as its final build step, and no Shopify account exists for this store today. The checklist stands in order, and its first step blocks everything below it: (1) the founder opens a CJ Dropshipping account and a DSers/AliExpress account; (2) the photo pilot — 100 SKUs imported and gated, with a pass line of at least 60% or the catalog is reverse-selected from passing listings; (3) the import scales in checked batches of 100 toward the launch catalog, with each SKU's supplier mapping locked; (4) the founder opens Shopify Basic ($39/mo monthly or $29/mo annual) with Shopify Payments and the store's domain; (5) the founder funds the working-capital float — about 14 days of forecast supplier spend, because suppliers are prepaid while payouts lag; (6) the storefront is rebuilt on Shopify with this same model, re-verified in test mode, and the founder gives the go/no-go for live selling. Live money movement stays gated on his word.

Growth after launch, per the research: US first, then UK, then Australia, Canada fourth; the EU only via EU-warehouse stock; no paid ads until organic volume proves the margin; daily reconciliation of payouts against supplier invoices.

Today, this door does two honest things: it opens the test-mode storefront above, and it takes the interest list below. Joining records your interest — it does not create an account, place an order, or charge anything.

Join the Buck & Save interest list

This is an interest list — interest only. Leave your name and email, and, if you like, what you would hunt for first. We will write to this list when the store opens. Joining does not create an account, does not place an order, and charges nothing — the store is not launched, and its test-mode checkout takes no payment.

You are on the interest list — thank you. We will write when the store opens. No account was created, no order was placed, and nothing was charged.
